Dear CurtThank you for your comments.Lately I have been geinttg comments from people such as the following:Thanks for that awesome posting. It saved MUCH time I have not been allowing such comments on my site, as they are repetitious (at last count I have received 784 similar ones)Therefore I am not used to being questioned by my readers and I am much more comfortable with praise and admiration. However in the hopes of creating a dialogue I’ve decided to answer your question about the temperament of artists.Artists tend to be unhappy because they generally have expectations of life that are much too high. Rather than food, shelter, clothing, and human warmth artists need to learn to be happy with other less tangible things, such as “unrelenting pain”. I believe if artists would follow this suggestion the world would be much better off. As to “success” and how artists are considered by the society, again I think your concerns are misplaced. Success will ruin an artist’s work if they attain it while they are alive. There will be plenty of time to be “successful” and considered a “genius” after one is dead.
