I think we're seeing a cgnhae in this country, a profound cgnhae and I don't mean the shift to the right. Though they're part of it. I believe its been happening for a while and Reagan really got the ball rolling. While I wouldn't dare suggest racism is dead I do believe it's dying. I think the years of Black or White is coming to an end. Daily I drive past a large university and I'm becoming acutely aware that the younger generation isn't white or black but rather a mixture of all races. No longer will society be able to separate one race from another. We're all blending together. I see it in this city I live in (Seattle) but I also saw it in rural Alaska where I spent so many years. The intermix of races will soon make any attempt at classifying anyone by race a lesson in frustration.I believe that as this country moves into its next phase, race isn't going to play the large part it played in my generation (I grew up in the 60s/70s) The issue isn't going to be race but rather, money. The country is being split not by race but by money. It won't be black or white it will be rich or poor. The rich are taking over and its not going to be pretty. Yes I know the rich and powerful have always had more sway but this is different. The middle class is disappearing at an alarming rate. When it does, all that will be left with is rich and poor.Reagan started it and Bush is taking it to new levels. Take a moment and look at what Bush is doing. End social security.Cancel bankruptcy as we know it.Immune companies from law suits.Take away peoples rights.Give more freedoms to large companies.Put the country deep in debt.Destabilize the government.Create a state sanctioned church.Throw the middle east into chaos .Control more of the worlds oil supply.I could go on, and on but really, are theses the actions of a racist? No, these are the actions of someone setting themselves up as King (or dictator) I'm surprised Bush didn't put the south under martial law. (for the good of the country) Its the next step. Can't have elections while half the country is under martial law .Hell, he's probably already planning how to hand it over to Jeb when the time comes. Now that the rich and powerful have allowed corporations to rid themselves of liability of any kind and citizen rights are locked down the squeeze play has started. As the price of gas continues to rise and it will. As heating bills double, or triple! We're about to separate the haves from the have-nots. The housing bubble will collapse and all those people that borrowed against the value of their home will be screwed. Consumer debt is at an all time high. What do you think will happen if the housing market makes a (cough cough) correction. Bankruptcy is no longer an option. When your house drops in value and your heating bill starts to look like another mortgage payment. You'll be in court which they control, for nonpayment and by law you'll be required to pay a percentage of your pay (a garnishment) to pay past debts and you'll have even less money to pay ever increasing bills. Talk about setting up the company store. Visa much prefers a direct deduction from your pay mandated by the courts. No race isn't going to be the issue it once was. Some folks will bitch about being black and poor but I wonder if they'll ever understand being black isn't the reason they're held down. It won't be the color of your skin it will be the size of your wallet.Kings and commonersRoyalty and peasantsCEO's and gruntsYou're either at the top, or the bottom.Rich are getting richer and poor are getting poorer. While the middle class is quietly but firmly being pushed down to poorWe had race riots, well get ready, we're about to enter into class wars. And it ain't gonna be pretty.
