So cute!! Love the upcycled idea! The only prelbom is that if I win, I'll have to buy another one for my other daughter, and then probably one for each of my nieces, and then hold a photoshoot to show off just how cute all 4 of them look together, and baby D will probably get sad, so I'll have to buy something upcycled for him as well . uh oh this is a slippery slope of goodness.

You don't need a serger, Peggy. Polar flceee does not ravel so you can leave raw edges exposed. Just cut two pieces of flceee to the sizes listed in the post and straight stitch it together. If you like, you could zig zag over the edges with contrasting thread for color, even variegated jeans thread as I used. You could add ribbons or buttons on top of your stitching for color, or applique' a design in place of the machine embroidery. The polar flceee is stretchy, so you might want to slip some stabilizer or even a piece of tissue paper between the flceee and the feed dogs. Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy sewing! Your granddaughter will love it!

I love my serger (Babylock with the air thedraer). Though it is hard to admit, every problem I have encountered has been caused by user error. Example: I was attempting a 2- cover stitch, but the looper would not sew. I must had rethreaded about 20 times. Then I read the directions. For the lower on a cover stitch, you must allow a much longer tail of as it must be pushed further through the . It was simply too short to catch. Did I feel foolish! When I followed the directions it worked perfectly. Also, if you have repeated breakages, it may be the itself. I had that problem while . I tried every adustment possible and then finally changed the , which fixed the problem. I have heard that can get brittle with age and I guess this one did.

I recently pucshared the 112 spools of kit, love the . The spools are plastic and with a carpet knife I made a slit in the base of the spool to insert the loose end of the . works great. Do not attempt this if you are not skilled using a carpet knife. It too bad the spool doesn't come with the slit already there.
